  • Some people need to read more history. The Founding Fathers had the mail delivered on Sunday because it would be unseemly for a secular government to observe a sectarian sabbath. And to some of the first European arrivals to North America, Christmas was a day of all work and no celebration.

  • City managers are supposed to be professional administrators. Most of them these days have advanced degrees in public administration and are true public servants. I'm sorry to see a group of dedicated professionals being derided as politicians and greedy SOBs.
